When I go to
localhost/CI/index.php
it loads the index page sucessfully. However, when I go to either of the URLs below:
localhost/CI/index.php/pages
localhost/CI/index.php/pages/view
CodeIgniter returns a 404 error. In the error log, it says
ERROR - 2015-08-11 17:04:11 --> 404 Page Not Found: CI/index.php
Any idea why?

Edit 2: When I try to access the following URLs:
localhost/index.php/welcome
localhost/index.php/pages/view
it works (basically, if I omit the CI in the URL). Also, regardless of what I change

and

I get the same results. I can even change both of them to "asdfsfsdfa" and it still works, so it seems as if CodeIgniter is completely ignoring them using something else. Any idea why
localhost/CI/index.php/welcome
doesn't work? How can I get
localhost/CI/index.php/welcome
to work (I want to get it to work so that I can understand what's going on).
