如何使用putty在亚马逊ec2上设置文件夹的权限

I am trying to set permission of folder on amozon ec2 server , but i am unable to set permission ,I am creating PDF file , and error comes , Unable to create output file. Then i found answer on this link

PHP TCPDF ERROR: Unable to create output file the folder exist and has the right permissions

chmod -R 0777 /yourdirectory

but when i used this command using putty , there is no output .I am unable to set permissions using putty , please help me out.Thanks in advance.

You can set the permissions with "chmod 777 path/". Is is right, that there is no output. There is only an ouput if an error occured.
