Canadian zip codes don't always validate

Question

I've now see at least 5 separate instances where a customer of a site reported being unable to check out because EDD reported their zip code as invalid even though it definitely was valid.

There's a definite bug in the regex for canadian zip codes.

Here's what one customer said:

But just for your own knowledge in case you want to look into this, I'm in Canada so we have postal codes rather than zip codes. I chose Ontario as province and entered L3X1T2, then tried L3X 1T2, then tried l3x 1t2 and l3x1t2. All failed.
