ubuntu安装PIL时安装不成功

我的ubuntu12.04,python是2.7的, 要安装PIL库

当我用 sudo pip install pil安装时,错误提示:

Could not find any downloads that satisfy the requirement pil

Some externally hosted files were ignored (use --allow-external pil to allow).

当用sudo apt-get install python-imaging可以安装成功,但是运行程序的时候有错误提示:
The _imaging C module is not installed

请问这两种安装的方法有什么区别吗?请问如何可以使第一种方法安装成功?恳请各位大师指点,谢谢.

应该是缺少库，参见http://stackoverflow.com/questions/21242107/pip-install-pil-dont-install-into-virtualenv

我劝你用pillow ，这个比pil兼容性要好的多。
