What steps will reproduce the problem? 1.Set plugins/create/ to use the external software "createtorrent" when on FreeBSD 2.Add a large torrent (1-5 GB) 3.wait for an hour or two What is the expected output? What do you see instead? I am not sure if it's a "linuxism" in the code or if it's just some strange incompatibility with "createtorrent" but on FreeBSD it doesn't work nearly as fast as it should. i've been testing other scripts/programs to make torrents and SO far it seems transmissioncli is the best. It has an easy to use (and almost the same as createtorrent) syntax for the command line. A torrent that takes 2 hours to make with createtorrent takes 30-40 seconds to make with transmission-cli PLEASE consider it for us FreeBSD users (also may be an update for linux users too, i would have to test on linux to be sure, maybe some of you linux kids could test. Take a 1 gb folder, use createtorrent on it, then try with transmissioncli and tell me which is faster) What version of the product are you using? On what operating system? SVN rutorrent, rtorrent-devel (0.8.5) and FreeBSD 7.2 createtorrent i've testing both the latest in ports and the latest available on the createtorrent website, both suffer from same bug
I've also emailed it's creators Please provide any additional information below. I think it would be an added enhancement for us FreeBSD users who use private trackers.
