console.log() not working in 1.5

Question

I tried to use within the code the usual console.log() and a javascript
error is fired: console does not exist

The expected result would be to see my variable written within the console.

Which version of Firebug? 1.5
Which version of Firefox? 3.5.7
On what operating system? Window Vista
Looks like "console.log()" does not work anymore in version 1.5.

Would there be any reason to have another incompatibility with another
extension?

I uninstalled 1.5 and installed 1.4.5 and the same line of code works as expected.
