Unable to Rotate a shape created with Pen tool via Rotate input

Question

create a new doc, select Pen tool and create a new shape (note Rotate field is not accessible, ok since still in pen edit mode), select Select tool and attempt to Rotate via input field.

Result: You can't. You can, however rotate it on-canvas. If you deselect and reselect the shape, then you can Rotate via the input field
