"Inspect Element" doesn't activate HTML tab in Firebug window

Originally reported on Google Code with ID 2390

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Visit http://getfirebug.com/
2. From the Firebug icon, select "Open Firebug in New Window"
3. Ensure Firebug is showing a tab other than the HTML tab
4. In the browser window, context-click on an element and select "Inspect
Element" from the context menu

Expected: Firebug window gets focus, switches to the HTML tab, and highlights
the chosen element.

Actual: Firebug window gets focus, but the tab remains unchanged. Switching to
the HTML tab manually shows that the chosen element has been correctly
highlighted.

Which version of Firebug? (more specific than latest please): 1.5x0a26
Which version of Firefox? 3.5.4
On what operating system? Windows XP SP3

Test case: see "Steps to reproduce". This problem also occurs on
http://google.co.uk/ and http://intertwingly.net/ so I don't think it's related
to any specific URL: the whole web is the test case ;-)
