Clearing Net panel content and exporting net panel content as per requirement

I am automating performance test suite for Ajax based application using Firebug and
selenium. I would like to capture elapsed time programmatically for a particular action
e.g. Login, Logout etc. 

It would be great to have preference setting to clear net panel content before starting
an action and exporting net panel content as soon as action is complete with some per-defined
.har name file name. 

Browser Version: 15.0.1
OS:Win 7
Firebug: firebug-1.10.3-fx.xpi
NetExpert: netExport-0.9b2.xpi

Please take a look at Issue 6095
Perhaps clear (and also export) API could be both exposed to the content JS (page)

Could we merge both issues?
