hive无法启动 远程连接mysql失败,求大神帮忙看看,万分感谢!!!

我的mysql是装在本地机器win7操作系统下的,服务正常,本地登录正常。
hive装在linux虚拟机上,虚拟机与本机网络没有问题,防火墙已关,hadoop安装也没有问题。
我在liunx虚拟机上安装了mysql的客户端,通过命令mysql -uhive -paxx1314 -h192.168.120.1 正常登录,信息如下

MySQL在hive使用的过程中的作用是什么?

小弟近日在折腾hive的时候陷入了沉思,安装hive时也要安装mysql以及mysql-connector-java,但是在hdfs上操作表的时候发现除了HQL和SQL相似之外,hiv和mysql之间的联系并不明显,而且在建表的时候就像直接用hadoop fs命令创建一个目录,然后把固定格式的文档扔进去。 所以,MySQL在hive使用的过程中的作用是啥鸭? 求大佬指教,不甚感激!!!
