PHP连接到远程Oracle DB

I am having trouble connecting to a remote oracle DB from PHP. I have been following instructions on the web and when I try to install oci8, I get the following error (last 3 lines):

sudo pecl install oci8-1.3.4.tgz

I downloaded the oracle instantclient, for linux 64-bit, from the oracle website (http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/database/features/instant-client/index-097480.html) and unzipped in the folder /opt/oracle. some help will be appreciated.
