I want to change the value of the tag for the value of a variable with php;

result:

$pattern = "/(<string[\s\w=\"]*>)([\w\s]*)(<\/string>)/i";
$replacement = "$1".$new_title."$3";
$result = preg_replace($pattern, $replacement ,$tag);
