从使用PHP选择的图像中提取EXIF数据

I'm building a website which has multiple gallery pages where the images are selected with PHP. The working code for this is:

foreach ($files as $file)

What I need to do is to pull out the EXIF data for each photo to use in the alt tag but I'm unsure on how and where to do this in the code I have. Any suggestions?
