How can I remove curly braces and the contents between using regex? I thought the following would have worked.

$filename = '{test}1234';
preg_replace('/\{{^\}}*\}/', '', $filename);

In the example above, I would like the following to be left after:

1234

I should mention, the contents between the curly braces could be any length, so this needs to be regex.

  echo preg_replace('/{(.*?)}/', '', $filename);
?>
