I have been looking quite extensively, but couldn't find an answer to my question - or maybe not understood it? (quite a beginner here). Will explain with an example:
When you go to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Idonotexist, the wiki displays a page named "Idonotexist", with options to create the entry. I basically want to build this feature on my server.
When someone visits www.mydomain.com/xyz/randomword, i want the following to happen:
- URL in browser stays "www.mydomain.com/xyz/randomword" (no redirect)
- Page like "Hello! Sorry, but 'randomword' does not exist here." is
displayed (or some fancy php stuff where I can use the 'randomword'
string as input).
I assume there must be some (somewhat) simple solution with an "index.php" in the folder /xyz/, and some functionality to capture the filename, but i have no idea where to start. Any suggestions for me? Thanks a lot.
