    while ($data = mysql_fetch_array($result)) {

   /* list($letter1,$letter2,$letter3,$letter4,$letter5) = explode(',' , $data['letters']);
    */
     $letters = array();
     // letters array will have the exploded letters     
     $letters = explode(',' , $data['letters']);
}
