I'm trying to use JSON files from another server. Here is the URL:

http://forleaf.co.nf/market/apps/latest.json

I am able to use JavaScript, jQuery and PHP (if required).

I know other questions covered files from the same server, but it doesn't work if I use that for a file on an external server.

If you were going to use jQuery you could use $.getJSON()

So in your case(example from http://api.jquery.com/jquery.getjson/):

$.getJSON("http://forleaf.co.nf/market/apps/latest.json", function(data){

});
