Looks like an encoding problem. You should consider to declare your html in utf8 :
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html lang="en">
<head>
<meta charset="UTF-8">
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" />
and make sure your file is utf8 encoded.
