How is the JSON passed to the PHP, if it is in a file you can decoded it by:

$json_data = file_get_contents(app_path() . '/path_to_file/data.json');
$data= json_decode($json_data, true);

if it is from GET data (lets say a value with key "json" then you can decoded it by:

$data= json_decode($_GET['json'], true);

Then you can access the id by:

$myid = $data['data'][0]['comments']['data'][0]['from']['id']

With the [0] values being the indexes of the data in the various lists, having only one item in each
