如何根据特定标准划分单词？

I have list of 100k names. for example:

hp
dell
google
microsoft
techcrunch
stcakoverflow

want search database to find similar names. what I am looking for is if a name hp then no trim but if dell then trim last one called del and if google then it became goo trim last three and if microsoft then micro trim rest. and if techcrunch then it should be techcr and if stackoverflow then it should be stackov like that. what I want to achieve with this is I want to find similar names with the name which I am going to search.
